Reward System

What is the DUA-powered reward system and how it works?
The application dua.com enables users to find people based on their social needs. Users search and decide with which other users they wish to connect and create a relationship which in its basic form is a way of transacting. The process of creating a relationship involves different steps. The user creates a profile. They verify and look for matches that fit their preferences. This process requires interaction with the app by liking or disliking profiles. It may involve the users being aware of fake profiles and reporting them if something fits the description of a fake profile. If there is a match, users can message, call, or video call with each other, exchange numbers, and take the discussion outside the app. All these interactions, including the sign-up of new users, add value to the app since it enriches the ecosystem. To incentivize users who align with our vision of reaching the next 100 million users, we are introducing DUA. The token will reward those working to enrich our ecosystem daily, thus directly improving their experiences. Each user can choose freely to be part of the reward system. When the user is enrolled (equipped with an in-app wallet), is active in the app, and starts interacting with others, reputation forms, leading to rewards in DUA.

DIRS

DUA Internal Reputation System (DIRS) is a reputation system that identifies the most engaged and active users of dua based on their contribution to the app. The contribution works through in-app activities such as matching, verifying the profile, reporting fake profiles and inviting users into the platform. Certain activities such as “verify your profile” and “report a fake profile” have higher relevance than others because they contribute directly to a “cleaner and safer” environment, meaning that they will potentially add more to the reputation score of a user.
All dua app modes (love, biz, and friends) will have an app-specific reputation setup that works off-chain using, most likely, an object-oriented database (non-relational). The reason for such a choice is that the read/write operations will be many and relatively instantaneous since user reputations will be updated in a micro-transactional fashion.
Users must complete and verify their profiles to qualify for the reputation system and participate in the reward program. Different point schemes will apply depending on whether a user is using the free or paid version of the app. If a user uses the freemium version, their experience will be limited to a certain number of features.
It is essential to point out that we always plan to have a free version of the app where people can start their dua experience. Still, we recommend the premium version to enjoy the whole matchmaking experience.

Contribution builds Reputation

Contribution builds Reputation. The collective intelligence of groups and communities help create some of the most innovative ideas in business. A person's reputation is an evaluation of their past and present behavior to that community, presented in a way that can influence how and whether other community members interact with that person. Reputation is as old as society itself.
For designing a successful reputation system, one shall consider:
  • Build Trust: Cultivate “good” and penalize “bad” behaviors.
  • Promote Quality: Reputation systems can help by assisting in the identification and promotion of high-quality contributors.
  • Sustain Loyalty: It constitutes a powerful form of lock-in and can be used strategically to increase user loyalty and decrease attrition.

Reputation defines Rewards

Users of dua app modes (love, biz, friends) have different interests that may lay outside the crypto world; therefore, on-chain rewards will not be directly linked to their activity. Instead, users may claim DUA tokens according to a well-defined internal system and a rate that will be determined in the future. We must clarify that the ratio (reputation/rewards) is not 1:1. We have decided to have a ratio because we believe that the in-app reward mechanism should be kept away from the financial considerations of the users.
We plan to roll the mechanism out part by part and provide certain users with separate sets of incentives to do appropriate A/B testing and see which incentives are moving our goal post closer to our targets.
As users use the dua app, they will be creating an internal reputation system that sits within the dua ecosystem. Because we wish to reward the users that make our platforms qualitative and worthy, we commit to creating and launching campaigns where we will reward the most contributing users to our values with actual DUA tokens. We do not wish to publicize the mechanisms and calculations on how we will do that precisely because we desire to keep the users enjoying and using the platform for its intrinsic rewards rather than some financial external future promise.
Whether it be on dua love, dua biz, or dua friends, two items will provide the most value to the network and, thus, to the company. The quality of:
  • Users who produce desirable content
  • Algorithms that allow users to achieve wanted outcomes.
Doing these two high-level items right will ensure that users come and stick around using our applications. Dua then becomes an integral part of their weekly routines. One of the core aims of tokenization is that the users that enrich the dua ecosystem should be the ones to be rewarded because that aligns with our mission. The idea of reputation points and incentivization will go through A/B testing. We might also improve these incentives as the application evolves while analyzing and discovering different important KPIs through the business development journey.
